Meet Trina

Trina Clark
Graphic Artist and owner of DigiScrapKits.com

Trina began creating primitive and country graphics in 1999 and now operates a successful web based business, DigiScrapKits.com.   Since early childhood, Trina has always loved to draw, and her favorite Christmas presents were doodle pads, markers, pencils, and crayons. Trina gives all the credit for her talent to God, who gave her the gift.

Ok, that’s fine. But WHO IS SHE?

Here are some facts that may help you get to know me better:

  1. I’m a wife to one, a mother to two, and a grandmother to three. My kids and grandchildren are the sunshine of my life. My parents just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary, so I’m blessed to have them both…and they’re still married :)
  2. I love Jesus, but I’m not affiliated with any organized religion. I believe in the Two Commandments: Love God and love people. I’ve had my fill of self-righteous snobbery, arrogance, spiritual bullying, criticism, and condemnation. Nothing bothers me more than to see a “mature” Christian bashing a “baby” Christian while shoving a finger and a Bible in their face. That’s just a tiny drop in the ocean compared to how I would love to rant on about the oppressive tactics of some of the zealots I’ve known…but I won’t dwell there.
  3. My two main passions in life are horses and drawing. I don’t remember a time when I didn’t love horses…I’m sure I was born this way :) . I also love nature, traveling, the water (any kind: ocean, river, lake, pond, spring, you name it), photography, and natural horsemanship.
  4. I HATE LIARS! Don’t come at me with “Sistah! Joogotta hate the sin but loooooooooove the sinnah!” YOU love them if you want, but don’t tell me what I gotta do (because that makes you a bully – see #5 below). Liars are worthless. I hope they get saved and quit lying…but until then, I have absolutely no use for them.
  5. I HATE BULLIES! Same deal. Shall I copy and paste? Are we clear? They’re worthless! I’ll work out my own salvation with fear and trembling, and everyone else can do the same. Don’t preach at me on these issues.
  6. Shew! Trying to calm down after those two. Ok, we currently have 6 horses (3 Tennessee Walking Horses and 3 Quarter Horses), 3 dogs, and 2 cats. Downsized from 12 horses, 6 dogs, and 2 cats…thank God.
  7. I’m not a television watcher by nature, but family time seems to center around the tube. Since that’s the case, I’ve come to enjoy CSI Miami, Criminal Minds, 24, and CSI (LV).
  8. I enjoy good movies. Some of my favorites are: PS I Love You, The First Knight, Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Shadowlands, The Holiday, Deja Vu, Man on Fire, Entrapment, I Am Legend, Secondhand Lions, Moll Flanders, Lonesome Dove, Saving Private Ryan, the Jesse Stone movies, When Harry Met Sally, The Lakehouse, Hope Floats.
  9. Favorite actors: Robert Duvall, David Caruso (latter years), Matthew McConaughey, Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Tom Selleck, Billy Crystal, Will Smith.
  10. Favorite actresses: Meg Ryan, Sally Field, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kim Baysinger, Sandra Bullock, Ashley Judd.
  11. I can enjoy most kinds of music…worship, country, pop, classic rock, easy listening, blues, jazz, love instrumentals (piano and sax). Hate Rap and not interested in Hip Hop.
  12. The only book I read these days is the Holy Bible. A few years ago, I read “A Grief Observed,” “Surprised by Joy,” “Reflections on the Psalms,” “The Screwtape Letters,” “The Four Loves,” and “The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe,” all by CS Lewis.
  13. My favorite flower is the Iris.
  14. My favorite place to eat is Miguel’s, a local Mexican restaurant.

Here are a few other little known facts about me:

  • I’m a natural blonde (dark blonde now)
  • I like to have my feet and ears covered when I sleep
  • I  play the keyboard (VERY amateur)
  • I wear contacts
  • I’ve done construction work as an occupation
  • I don’t like heights and have sensations/visions of falling
  • Cats and small, yippy dogs annoy me
  • My love languages are “physical touch” and “quality time” (I’m not getting weird here – I love hugs from my husband, kids, grandkids, parents, etc.)
  • I can cut the toenail completely off my “pinky” toe, and it doesn’t hurt
  • I’ve always wanted to be a singer
  • My younger son was in the movie “Elizabethtown” as the boy on the bike who leads Orlando Bloom through town (with the helmet and weird goggles)
  • Got my first pony when I was 9
  • The necessity of eating is an inconvenience that disrupts my day
  • I’ll bend over backwards to be nice and avoid conflict to a point; but if I’m cornered or unjustly accused, it’s not pretty
  • I relate well to prey animal instincts…I can spot a predator from miles away. To borrow a quote from my favorite author, CS Lewis, “Experience, that most brutal of teachers. But you learn….my God, you learn.”

Thank you for giving me some insight into who you are. I love your art, keep buying it with hopes to be a greeting card designer someday…just can’t figure out where to start! I have great ideas, just don’t have the knowledge…may take a class. This has been going on for a few years now!

I love Elizabeth town, watch it about every weekend while I am cleaning house! I know the little boy you are talking about…what an exciting experience for him.

Thank you sharing your life with all of us! I am a 53 year old widow from Sacramento, CA., with a 10 year old daughter. Having my first date in four years with a guy who looks a bit like your hubby…met him on Match.com!

    Keep drawing…I just love it!

    Erin

    Hi Erin,
Hope you keep pursuing your dream! Hang in there, and you’ll have a breakthrough before you know it. Hugs!

A Quick Note

They say a picture paints a thousand words, so instead of writing thousands of words, I'll mostly just tell my stories in pics.

You'll see some images from "My Life" that tell you a little about who I am. You'll also see some images of my artwork in the "Country Clip Art" category...which tells you a little more about who I am.

Hope you enjoy browsing.
